Meet FEIPU. We bring together research in computational biology and artificial intelligence to explore practical, responsible wellness technology. In this first post, we introduce our team, our approach, and VitaMirror — one example of our work.

Founded in Shanghai in 2021, Feipu Intelligent Technology (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. brings together experience in computational biology, artificial intelligence, technology development, and business operations. We explore how computational models can support life sciences research and responsible wellness technology.

FEIPU’s work brings together computational biology, multi-omics research, artificial intelligence, and expertise across fields such as bioinformatics, spatial biology, and medical statistics. Its team includes scientists with experience at institutions including the Max Planck Institute, Yale University, and the Chinese Academy of Sciences.

Members of FEIPU’s technical team come from these research institutions and universities.

FEIPU is developing computational approaches to understanding human biology and applying them to more accessible wellness tools. The company describes its Human Life Mirror platform as a way to integrate insights from multiple types of biological data. VitaMirror is one practical example of this work: it uses facial imaging and computational models to provide a brief, contactless assessment of selected wellness indicators.

From research to practical technology

FEIPU studies biological data and develops computer models to better understand human health and wellbeing. We explore how to turn that research into useful wellness tools while being clear about what their results can and cannot tell.

VitaMirror: A Technology we have Developed.

VitaMirror

VitaMirror is a contactless interface designed for point-in-time wellness assessments. It uses optical signals and computational models to estimate selected wellness indicators. It does not directly analyze blood.

The product is designed to support repeatable check-ins that may help users observe changes over time. FEIPU is exploring its use in personal, workplace, wellness-service, and institutional settings, subject to local requirements.

Understanding the limits

A VitaMirror assessment provides a wellness reference, not continuous medical monitoring. Its results are not a diagnosis or a prediction of an individual’s medical future, and they should not replace professional medical care.

FEIPU aims to make wellness information more convenient to access while communicating these limits clearly.

The people behind FEIPU

Professor Tang Kun

Professor Tang Kun is FEIPU’s chief scientist and a founder of the company. He holds a PhD from the National University of Singapore and completed postdoctoral research at the Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology.

His research background includes computational biology, population genomics, genetic analysis, and computational modeling of human traits. FEIPU’s wider founding team brings together experience across research, artificial intelligence, technology investment, company operations, and product development.

What we’ll share

In future posts, we’ll share more about FEIPU’s work and explore questions around wellness technology: how tools work, what their results mean, how privacy is considered, and what responsible use looks like in practice. We’ll also share stories about Chinese holidays, traditions, and everyday life. We hope these posts give readers useful insights into technology and a closer look at the culture around us.
